Our school boasts amazing facilities, especially the teaching and learning spaces that we are so proud of, all purposefully built for our learners. Our two-tier Auditorium is the perfect backdrop for music performances, concerts and school productions. We also have two large air-conditioned gyms that are designed in a way that they can be split into four separate teaching spaces.
Our FIFA and World Rugby specified artificial turf field is full size to ensure our football and rugby teams have plenty of room to score. Plus, our Aquatics Centre features a 50m Olympic-sized pool fitted with the latest Omega touch pads, as well as a 20m shallow pool for our younger learners or our athletes to warm up in. Both pools are partially sheltered to offer protection from the sun. There are also yoga and weight studios for our swimmers to incorporate land training into their programme.
Each child at Nexus is taught based on their personal motivations, understanding and talents. All our teachers are internationally qualified and experienced and we hold continuous training for our staff throughout the year.
We empower children to learn by encouraging them to be independent, teaching them to be critical thinkers. Our core subjects measure well above the international average in English, Maths and Science and our ongoing assessment allows us to track each child's performance personally.
We believe in providing a strong community where parents, teachers and children collaborate in open relationships. Parents are valued and play an important role within our school, driving us to grow stronger together. We have an open door policy that encourages regular communication between parents and teachers. Home learning, coursework, school trips, events, activities and general school information are housed online in our Parent Zone, keeping communication clear and informative. We also have a variety of parent workshops aimed to support the family network at home.
Nexus follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme for children from Nursery to Year 6, which is taught in 1,472 schools in 109 countries. Years 7 to 9 follow the UK National Curriculum and Years 10 and 11 follow the Cambridge IGCSE. Learners in Year 12 and 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
We measure our core subjects against the world’s highest-ranking curricula. For example, English Literature and Language is benchmarked against UK and New Zealand standards, Maths against Singapore National standards, and Science against the Australian National standards.
